Our legacy
Sri Ramakrishna Tapovanam
Sri Ramakrishna Tapovanam at Tirupparaithurai works towards the educational, spiritual, moral and cultural advancement of the community, and manages educational institutions across Tamil Nadu. It was founded by Srimath Swami Chidbhavanandar, and its residential Gurukula school at Tirupparaithurai was established in 1942.
Its educational mission draws on the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. The vision behind it emphasises character, strength of mind, intellectual development and self-reliance — an education meant to form a person, not only to qualify one.

Our founder
ஸ்ரீமத் ஸ்வாமி சித்பவானந்தர்Srimath Swami Chidbhavanandar
March 11, 1898 – November 16, 1985
Founder of Sri Ramakrishna Tapovanam and of the educational institutions that grew from it. A monk of the Ramakrishna Order, he wrote more than a hundred books in Tamil and English, among them his well-known commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita.
